Who we are .......

As a mother and daughter duo Karen & Nikki work hard as a team to make linedancing fun and enjoyable for all age groups whether you are an absolute beginner or someone with experience.

Karen Poll started linedancing back in 1998 at a little club in Harleston, Norfolk. From the very first step she knew she loved to linedance. Lots of friends were made and Karen became a regular on the dancefloor. A few years passed and the class grew and grew but unfortunante circumstances meant the teacher had to leave..... Still Dancing Linedance Club was born.  For ten years the class was taught by a friend of Karen's but as a constant figure on the dancefloor Karen was always one to follow (and still is!). In January 2010 Karen became the teacher of the Still Dancing class.  In July of 2010 the class moved to Mendham & Withersdale Village Hall and in August 2010 an absolute beginner class was born. Each week Karen finds new dances to teach and re-caps lots of older ones to keep the brain ticking.  Karen loves to share her passion for linedance and her main aim each week is to ensure that every person enjoys themselves and more importantly laughs!  Not only a keen linedancer Karen also loves to partner dance with her husband Nigel and in September of 2011 started to teach a partners class every other Sunday. Karen has also found time to choreograph a few partner dances of her own and there are alot more to come.  When Karen is not dancing her time is spent working with children at the local school (perhaps thats why she is so good at controlling us all at class).

Nikki, the youngest of Karen's two daughters, has inherited her mum's passion to dance. In her 30's Nikki loves to bring the modern twist to linedance and as Karen's right hand girl normally stands at the back of the class to keep the dancers in check.  Nikki's main job is to remember the tags and restarts, which of course isn't always easy. Nikki's first linedance steps were also taken back in 1998 but after a change in circumstances Nikki gave the trend a break.  She soon decided to get back into Linedance and now dances as many nights of the week as possible. Nikki loves the fact that linedance is undertaken to a complete range of music from country to pop to R'n'B, a great variety. Also following in Karen's footsteps Nikki has started to teach a few dances at the odd class and also choreograph some of her own.

Together Karen and Nikki enjoy sharing their passion for linedance and when not teaching at class enjoy supporting other local clubs at their socials and throughout the year enjoy weekends away in places such as Hemsby and the Isle of Wight.

If you are interested in learning to linedance or in fact fancy somewhere to go for a fun night out find class details on our home page or alternatively contact us and we will be happy to send details to you.
